I wake up, every morning
Watching the bright Sunshine
A little hope for a brighter day...Everyday
I walk down the road, across the river,
Following my shadows...!!
I see faces, Faces that doesn't Smile,
Express happiness with deepest sorrows in their heart.
I see clouds in the sky...ready to fill the shadows of darkness in our hearts.
I see hunger, so as the starvation,
Sufferings of the children, with no limitations.
I hear whispers all over pleading for help,
But my hands are tied and I am helpless.
I see the raindrops, feel it, touching my heart.
And when the risen sun spreads the bright day light,
Silenced by the clouds, making it numb and helpless,
And the Sun disappears, giving us the darkness.
What remains...a handful of sorrow,
With wetness in their eyes and wounded hearts.
Now, I see that the day has ended,
Sheltering and covering me with the blanket of darkness,
The world is still out there,
Facing the Sunset, Settling down their lives.
With a ray of hope for a better tomorrow,
...And I am Sleeping...
Hoping that the Sunset would bring,
A Better Sunrise Tomorrow.
"Dedicated to all those people who fight against their odds to have a better life."
Note: The original poem was written for a competition. When I am publishing it in my blog, I have made some changes with the words and lines.
